The Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) and the Health Care Authority (HCA) want us all to strive for overall wellness! In doing so, PEBB and HCA have offered a Wellness Incentive to all benefit eligible Faculty, Staff and hourly employees.
Step 1: Create your account at: www.smarthealth.hca.wa.gov
Step 2: Choose your main focus activity for 2015
Step 3: Complete your health assessment (required to earn 2016 incentive). This will earn you 800 points.
Step 4: Complete activities of your choice, while recording your progress. As an existing employee, you will need to complete 1,200 points worth of activities.
Employees eligible and participating in a PEBB medical plan are eligible to participate. If an employee retires, separates/resigns or goes on Leave Without Pay, and are not enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B, they will be able to continue to participate in the incentive.
Spouses or registered domestic partners can participate in activities and completion of the Health Assessment, however, only the subscriber will receive the $125 incentive.
Do I Have to Participate?
No, participation is completely voluntary. If you do not participate, you will not be eligible for the $125 wellness incentive in 2016.

What Performance Measuring Tracking Devices Can I Sync Up?
There are a variety of apps and devices that track your activity and report the minutes, miles, steps, and calories burned. Some of these apps and devices track your activity for an entire day (such as a pedometer) while others track your activity per session. Read the description for each option on the SmartHealth Apps & Devices page in Settings for more details about which units they measure and how your activity is tracked. To find out more information or to purchase an app or device, click the Get it! button.

How Come Only Selected Activities Are Worth Points?

Can I Complete My Health Assessment and Track Activities While At Work?
You can, yes, provided time spent doing so is deminimus. Governor Inslee will allow state resources, such as your computer, to be used while participating in the SmartHealth Incentive. Please be mindful that completing the actual activities should be done on personal time.
Will My Health Information Be Kept Confidential?
Yes, due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), all information, such as Assessment results and activity data are kept private. Data will be aggregated and tracked for PEBB members as a whole.

Do I Need To Take My PEBB Medical Plan Health Assessment?
You will no longer earn points by completing your own individual plan’s health assessment (ex. Uniform, Group Health, or Kaiser). While they still are available, you will need to only complete the health assessment located within the SmartHealth portal.
