Dietary habits are closely linked to a number of preventable illnesses in the United States. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control, dietary factors are associated with 4 of the 10 leading causes of death in the US: heart disease, stroke, some cancers, and type 2 diabetes. Nutrition is also a contributing factor to obesity and osteoporosis. Learning how to eat healthy and making good nutrition a part of your life can contribute to improved quality of life, a longer life, decreased medical costs, and increased productivity.

The Organic Farm is committed to education, research, and extension. As a teaching farm the primary goal is to pass on the skills necessary to grow organic fruits and vegetables in an intensive small-scale environment. The farm is available to the WSU scientific community to conduct organic research projects. In addition, the farm strives to provide fresh produce to local food banks and non-profits.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

The Organic Farm participates in Community Supported Agriculture, a CSA is a partnership between farmers and their customers. Members purchase a ‘share’, large or small, and during the harvest time they receive a box of fresh, organic produce.

Farmers Markets

Pullman Farmers Market

Pullman Farmers Market begins the third Wednesday in May and continues through October 23rd, each week  from 3:30-6:00pm in the Spot Shop Parking Lot at 240 NE Kamiaken St, vendors will offer a wide variety of food and farm products.

Moscow Farmers Market The Market is located downtown on Main Street and in Friendship Square. It is held each Saturday, May through October, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Local musicians perform from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
