Elevating Cougs: Developing as a Coug/Caring for Yourself as a Coug track focuses on personal development & well-being

This track emphasizes individual development with a focus on soft skills, also known as interpersonal or people skills, which are essential for effective communication, collaboration, and navigating diverse work environments

Developing as COUG

While technical expertise is crucial, soft skills are equally important for promoting productivity, teamwork, and innovation within an organization. Employees participating in this track will explore:

  • Improving work relationships
  • Managing time and workload
  • Addressing mental health in the workplace
  • Seeking mentorship
  • Using tools to enhance workday efficiency

Participants will expand their toolkit with actionable strategies to support overall health and well-being, promoting physical, mental, and emotional health while fostering a positive work-life balance. Sessions will concentrate on five key areas:

  • Guidance and Support
  • Nutrition and Healthy Eating
  • Intellectual Well-being
  • Physical Health and Activity
  • Work/Life Balance

These sessions provide an invaluable pathway for employees at all levels to enhance their skills and grow professionally. They offer resources and skill development to maintain a healthy work-life balance and information about core programs, including the Washington State Employee Assistance Program and SmartHealth.
