Charting Your Next Chapter: Early Retirement Incentive

WSU is offering a Voluntary Early Retirement Incentive (VERI) for eligible WSURP participants. This opportunity is available to employees who are age 55 or older and have at least 10 years of WSURP service.

The application window runs from June 9 to July 3, and those whose applications are accepted will be expected to retire by August 31.

Incentive Payment Details

Eligible participants will receive a one-time lump sum payment equal to one week of their annual base salary for each year of retirement-eligible WSURP service, up to a maximum of 20 weeks. This amount will be subject to all legally required deductions.

For example, as outlined in the Board of Regents packet, a participant with 15 years of service in a 9-month, 100% FTE position earning $137,500 annually would receive a lump sum payment of $52,890, before taxes and deductions.
