Benefits and financial goals can change over time. As the end of the year approaches, now is a great time to review your benefits, retirement plans, and Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions.

This month’s Benefits feature highlights upcoming Open Enrollment activities, HSA contribution reminders, and retirement and benefits information sessions designed to help you plan with confidence.

Open Enrollment is Around the Corner

Open Enrollment is October 26 through November 23, 2026. As far away as that sounds, it will be here before we know it, making now a good time to review your current benefit elections and consider

Review Your HSA Contributions for 2026

If you participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA), consider taking a few moments to review your contribution elections for the remainder of 2026.

Checking your current contribution level now can help ensure it still aligns with your health care expenses, savings goals, and annual contribution plans. Employees may wish to review their elections and make adjustments as needed before year-end.

HRS Benefits continues to offer presentations and information sessions designed to help employees better understand benefit programs, retirement planning, and available resources.

Whether you’re new to WSU, planning for retirement, or simply looking to better understand your benefits, these sessions can help you make informed decisions and plan with confidence.

No registration is required; all sessions are presented through Zoom.

WSURP Pre-retirement Planning
September 29, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | September 30, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

HRS Benefits will host a WSURP pre-retirement session followed by a TIAA presentation on retirement income options. These sessions are intended for WSURP participants who are within two to five years of retirement.

TIAA Retirement Benefits Overview
September 29, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. | September 30, 9:00 a.m. – Noon

HRS Benefits and TIAA also plan to offer a benefits overview session for employees who are not nearing retirement but would like a refresher on their benefits and savings options.
