A personnel admin performs HR related activities for their department in areas such as recruiting, hiring, staffing changes, separation, academic appointments, and time and leave support. Typically, a personnel admin has the Department HR Partner security role in Workday and may have other roles such as Recruiter, Timekeeper, or Academic Faculty Partner.
To help differentiate between the HR work done in the departments, compared to the work done by the central HRS units, personnel admins are often referred to as Departmental Personnel Admins.
