Review and Evaluation Timing and Policies

The annual review or performance evaluation is a tool used to document an employee’s strengths, identify areas for future growth, and communicate organizational goals and objectives.

Administrative Professional

The performance of Administrative Professional employees is reviewed on the calendar (January – December) year unless otherwise determined by the senior executive for the area.

Bargaining Unit

Refer to the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement for information regarding evaluations.

Civil Service

The performance of Civil Service employees is reviewed according to the employee’s Periodic Increment Date (PID). The review period can be changed by mutual agreement of the supervisor and the employee. Questions on an employee’s Periodic Increment Date should be directed to hrs@wsu.edu.

Faculty

Review Performance Management Evaluations (BPPM 60.55) for an overview of the performance management policy at WSU.

  • Faculty are reviewed annually in accordance with policies and regulations in the Faculty Manual.
  • Additional guidance can be found on the Provost website: Annual Review Overview
