Caring for Self and Others
In the midst of work responsibilities, deadlines, and everyday stressors we all experience, it’s important to make self care a priority. Caring for others adds an additional layer of complexity, but caring for yourself continues to remain paramount.
Please use the following resources to help you on your self care journey. More information and resources can be found at the Wellcoug Employee Wellbeing page.
Contact HRS with additional requests or concerns at (509) 335-4521 or hrs@wsu.edu.

“Self Care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
-Eleanor Brown

The WSU Employee Assistance Program can help with any number of stressors and concerns, including but not limited to the topics listed below. The EAP is primarily a referral service, but they also offer counseling services, legal and financial consultations, and a robust Work Life Resource webpage (Access code: WSU).
EAP provides up to three confidential counseling sessions. If additional services are needed they will assist in helping you find a local provider. And, speaking of local providers, all the WSU Insurance plans cover behavioral health services.
To learn more or access EAP services, visit the WA EAP webpage.
Visit the SmartHealth site/app for resources addressing stress, mental health, fitness and nutrition, and more. Also a stress management, self care and wellness channel has been created in Percipio and the site can be searched for many valuable resources as well!
