Common Retirement Spam Emails

Spam emails are commonly distributed to WSU email accounts offering to provide retirement counseling and services. These communications are not associated with WSU or any of our authorized retirement vendors, and have been reported as spam to IT.

If you receive one of these emails, don’t open it, delete it, and do not set up an appointment or any other service they may offer. If you wish to have this type of retirement counseling, contact the authorized retirement plans (DRS, TIAA, VOYA) to request that service at no charge to participants.

September 17: PEBB Retiree Insurance Presentation

The Health Care Authority, the state agency that administers the retiree health insurance plans, will host a Zoom presentation from 10:00 am – Noon. They will review the options retirees can enroll in during the retirement years, including plans that supplement Medicare. No registration is required. Join Zoom Meeting

September 22: Social Security Presentation

A representative from Social Security will provide a Social Security and Medicare overview from 10:30 am – Noon. No registration is required. Join Zoom Meeting

September 29 & 30: TIAA-HRS Benefits & Retirement Sessions

  • Pre-Retirement Informational Sessions: HRS Benefits and TIAA will provide pre-retirement informational sessions, reviewing income options, insurance options, and WSU retirement procedures.
    • September 29 from 9:00 am – Noon
    • September 30 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Benefits Overview Sessions: HRS Benefits and TIAA also are offering benefits overview sessions for employees who are not close to retirement, but would like a refresher on their benefits package and savings options. 
    • September 29 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
      • TIAA’s portion will focus on Sandwich Generations
    • September 30 from 9:00 am -Noon
      • TIAA’s portion will focus on Career Transitions
  • No registration is required, and all sessions can be accessed via Zoom
