Vision Insurance – NEW!
All Must Choose a Plan during 2025 Open Enrollment
It is required that all employees elect a Vision Plan during the annual Open Enrollment period running from October 28, 2024 – November 25, 2024, for a January 1, 2025 effective date.
Starting in 2025, WSU employees have three standalone vision plans to choose from: Davis Vision, EyeMed Vision and MetLife Vision.
If employees do not elect a plan during Open Enrollment, or as a new employee, they will be enrolled in the MetLife Vision plan.
Vision benefits through 2024 have been part of the medical plans.
WSU pays the full premium for employees and enrolled dependents.
Covered vision benefits
- A yearly routine eye exam for members
- Dependents 19 and under receive a pair of glasses (or contacts in lieu of glasses) every year
- $200 every two years to be spent on a pair of glasses (frame and lenses) or contact lenses in lieu of frame and lenses, beginning 2025
- Beginning in 2025, the two-year benefit reset occurs in numerically-odd years (2025, 2027, 2029, etc.)
