What is the purpose of WSU Introduce Yourself?

Prospective candidates for positions with WSU can provide their resume and other contact information to WSU for general consideration if there is not a specific position the candidate wishes to apply to at that time. WSU may use the personal data collected through WSU Introduce Yourself to identify prospective candidates for positions at WSU that may be open in the future.

Is the WSU Introduce Yourself process the same as the WSU Jobs Alert resource?

No. WSU Introduce Yourself does not require prospective candidates to create a WSU Jobs account and provides information for WSU recruitment personnel to contact prospective candidates about specific job opportunities based on the information provided during WSU Introduce Yourself process.

The WSU Job Alert process requires prospective candidates to create a WSU Jobs account. During the WSU Job Alert process, prospective candidates select job categories and job types to receive automatic notifications about any WSU job vacancy that meets the preference provided by the prospective candidate.

What should a prospective candidate do, if they are contacted about WSU job opportunities and they are interested in being considered for the position(s)?

In order to be considered for a position with WSU, the prospective candidate will need to create a WSU Jobs account and submit an electronic application, along with any required application materials. When viewing the posting on the WSU Jobs website, the prospective candidate can select the “Apply” button to begin the application process.

What information is collected from the WSU Introduce Yourself process and how will it be used?

WSU may collect a prospective candidate’s name, phone number, email address, and any other information that may appear on the resume attachment provided by the prospective candidate.

Candidates are strongly discouraged from providing protected information in their resume (e.g. sex, date of birth, national origin, etc.).

WSU will review the information provided by the prospective candidate to match the prospective candidate with possible employment opportunities with WSU.

Will information provided by prospective candidates through WSU Introduce Yourself be shared with anyone outside of WSU?

No. The information prospective candidates provide through WSU Introduce Yourself will only be accessed and used for WSU recruitment purposes. If the prospective candidate aligns with a current or future vacancy with WSU, a WSU employee may reach out to the prospective candidate and invite them to apply for the vacancy.

After submitting information through WSU Introduce Yourself, should prospective candidates continue to visit the WSU Jobs website?

Yes. While WSU will try to match prospective candidates with WSU vacant positions, WSU cannot match prospective candidates will all positions a candidate may be interested in. Prospective candidates should continue to review the WSU Jobs website for career opportunities they are interested in.
