New Employee Assignments
As a part of getting started at WSU, new employees are automatically assigned a set of foundational trainings to support a smooth and confident transition into the university.
These assignments will appear automatically in your Assignments area in Percipio and will be available the day after your first day of employment. Each assignment is required just once upon hire, and you’ll have six months from your start date to complete them, giving you time to learn at a steady pace while settling into your role.
New employees training includes:
- WSU System Orientation
- Benefits & Retirement Information
- Your First Week
- Your First Six Months
- Workday Fundamentals
- Safety at WSU
Together these trainings provide context about how WSU works, where to find key tools and resources, and what to expect as part of the university community.
How to Locate Your Assignments
Your assignments are easy to find and accessible anytime, whether your logging in from a computer or a mobile device.
Using the Web Platform

From your Dashboard
When you sign in to Percipio, you land on your learner dashboard. This is your home base, making it easy to see required and recommended learning at a glance.

In this space, you will see the first three assignments you’ve been given. Select an assignment to open the details or View Assignments to see the full list, including active, completed, and canceled.

From the My Learning Menu
Log in to Percipio.
From the left navigation menu, select Assignments under My Learning.
From the list of assignments, you can toggle between active, completed, and canceled.

From Your Profile
Log in to Percipio.
Select My Learning from your profile icon (your initials) in the upper right of the screen.
Locate the Assignments section to see the top three assignments due. Select View All Assignments to access the full list, including active, completed, and canceled.
Working with Assignments
This section helps you understand the assignment information you’re seeing and what to do next. You’ll learn how to check an assignment status, view details, launch the content, and manually mark the learning completed if required.
Marking Content as Completed
Some items allow you to manually mark them as completed. This option is used for certain content types, such as PDFs or links to external websites, that don’t automatically track completion like on-demand courses or other resources in the Percipio library.
Before you can mark an item complete, you’ll need to open and view the content. Once the Mark as Completed option is available and selected, the item is recorded as finished. You’ll see the content listed on your Learning Activity page, and its status will update to Completed within the assignment.
It’s important to note that manually marking an item as completed cannot be undone. Be sure you’ve fully reviewed the material before selecting this option.
