We are thrilled to announce Shannon McCarthy, Administrative Assistant with Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine Office of Curriculum, at WSU Spokane, as a Crimson Spirit Award Recipient.
McCarthy’s nominees had wonderful things to say. Shannon is an integral part of our Office of Curriculum. She consistently demonstrates a high level of dedication and responsibility in her role and works proactively to ensure that issues that arise within the department are quickly and efficiently solved. Shannon has a dedicated spirit and consistently goes above and beyond in her duties to manage multiple timelines simultaneously. Shannon always looks for ways to improve upon established processes to prevent future challenges from becoming roadblocks.
Shannon is a compassionate, considerate, and empathetic team member, and these qualities are evident in the way she approaches her work. She anticipates needs before they emerge and communicates with care to everyone she encounters. She is dedicated to completing tasks efficiently and effectively and has a daily positive impact on the team.
One of Shannon’s teammates had this to say about her: “I’ve had the privilege of working with Shannon for nearly three years, and I don’t believe I know of a more steadfast and committed person in the Office of Curriculum. She has always shepherded our team through processes with kindness and care. Her actions match her words, and I’m grateful for her particularly gentle brand of communication, even when she’s experienced an interaction that has not been gentle to her. She is the first to offer help or support and always makes time to listen and provide sound feedback when her teammates are in need. She is a wonderful example of understated leadership for our team and embodies the Crimson Spirit description.”
