We are happy to announce Molly Spain, Procurement and Supply Specialist with Procurement and Contract Services at WSU Pullman, as a Crimson Spirit Award Recipient.

Molly Spain has been a part of WSU for over ten years, she began with the department of Chemistry and now it has been four year with Procurement and Contract Services. She ensures that departmental clients know how and when to do things to get their important services, equipment and supplies.

From copier leasing, vehicle purchasing, catering contracts and bids; Molly has helped with it all. She handles several services (sometimes even in critical needs areas) and has quickly become a go-to person for running complex projects; handling each matter with professionalism, efficiency, and grace. “Molly is always eager to help, always anticipates what needs to be done next, closes the loop on resolved issues, and does it with a positive attitude no matter how tedious… Her attention to detail and high ethical standards make her a superb university representative” says one nominator. Molly is also a regular contributor to the purchasing Listserv. This is a resource where procurement professionals throughout the state submit questions and other purchasing professionals have the opportunity to lend their expertise.

In addition to her usual duties, Molly is also very active within her office and the “local party planner” amongst her colleagues. She goes the extra mile by bringing in decorations, handmade cards, and anything that can be used to celebrate a special occasion, “If there’s a theme to be had, Molly can spark the idea.” Molly is being recognized for providing superior customer service through active listening, creative solutions, proactive approach, and regularly exceeding expectations.
