Shelly Hansen receives 2024 Crimson Spirit Recognition
We are happy to announce Shelly Hansen, Food Service Supervisor with Student Affairs Dining Administration at WSU Pullman, as a Crimson Spirit Award Recipient.
Hansen’s nominators had many great things to say. “Shelly always does an amazing job directing the student employees down at the Lighty Cafe! I can always tell when she’s around because the quality of service increases 10-fold and she’s always such a delight to interact with at the counter. Shelly always goes above and beyond to make sure employees and students purchasing coffee and sandwiches at the cafe have a positive experience, in our office, we say that she’s the sandwich whisperer! They always are just right when she’s behind the wheel, and many of us look forward to “forgetting” our lunches when we know we can grab a sandwich from just downstairs.”
“Shelly leads her employees with tact, and there almost never seems to be tension between workers down there. She always greets everyone with a smile and is a joy to interact with! Shelly is incredibly kind and is so genuine when serving students and staff members at the Lighty Cafe. She always serves people quickly and kindly, and it really lights up my day as a staff member who goes to the cafe for a pick-me-up quite often. She corrects any issues with orders and is always so nice about it. She just very clearly works so hard to go the extra mile for every customer.”
“She is so deserving of this award. The cafe has gone through a lot as they transitioned to being a local affiliate with Thomas Hammer Coffee, and Shelly has overseen it all. Not only has she been so helpful to customers during this transition, but she’s also been so genuinely excited, it’s infectious! She is very proud to take part in the local Thomas Hammer Coffee franchise.”
“Shelly has provided quality service and outstanding contributions to the WSU Community. We are thrilled Shelly is a part of WSU.”
