We are delighted to report that Amanda Yager, Assistant Director of Research Administration with the Paul G. Allen School for Global Health, is a Crimson Spirit Award recipient.

Amanda had several nominations and each testament truly showcases why she is receiving this recognition. Amanda serves as a mentor to many of the Research Administration staff; she always makes herself available to help guide and answer any questions they have. She has built a reputation for being knowledgeable, resourceful, consistent, and responsive. One of her nominators says, “If [you are] looking for a superstar who goes above and beyond, supporting WSU infrastructure in action and attitude, . . . kindly recognize Ms. Yager.”

Before she moved to Veterinary Medicine, Amanda worked with the College of Arts and Sciences. “Amanda is one of the very best external grant admins in the entire university. When she worked in CAS [College of Arts and Sciences], her customer service was amazing…” Amanda found creative solutions to problems for complicated agency grant submissions and worked out kinks in complex, multi-unit, cross-disciplinary proposals. Her nominator finishes by saying, “She was absolutely expert and selfless, never needing to call attention to herself.”

Amanda is being recognized for her quality service, outstanding contributions to the WSU community, presenting noteworthy extra effort, and other superior efforts in support of university strategic goals. “… Ms. Yager exemplifies the very best in our Coug Community, and she absolutely merits the Crimson Spirit Award.”
