WSU and UAW met for our 32nd full bargaining session. In response to WSU’s December 11 full package proposal, the UAW presented three separate Articles to start the day, Health Insurance, Parking & Transit, and Anti-discrimination & Harassment. Just after noon, UAW presented a partial package proposal, which contained Holidays, Job Titles, Summer Session, Vacation, and Workload. WSU presented counterproposal responses to both Health Insurance and Parking & Transit. WSU also offered to accept UAW’s Job Titles proposal.  At the end of the day, UAW presented a second package, comprised of Child and Dependent Care, Duration, Fees and Tuition Waiver, Leaves, and Wages. UAW also presented Layoffs as a standalone article.

The UAW and WSU teams expressed they would both continue to review and pass proposals electronically outside of bargaining sessions and connect for special subject bargaining as needed. The UAW did not provide responses to WSU’s proposals on No Strike No Lockout, Professional Development and Career Counseling, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (EPIC), Title IX, and Union Reports, nor did they respond to WSU’s expressed urgency to address implementation. The WSU team continues to review Articles as received.
