Derek Brown, Grant and Contract Specialist for Grant and Research Development, is the August 2008 Crimson Spirit Award winner.

Derek was nominated by Peggy Bowe from WSU Vancouver for his contributions to improving procedures for sending grant proposals, his extra help and support for grant deadlines, and for his excellent customer service. Derek was selected to receive the Crimson Spirit Award for his exceptional creativity in problem solving, outstanding contributions to the WSU community, and his demonstration of trust and respect in the work place.
