Gwen Miller receives 2021 Crimson Spirit Recognition
Gwen Miller of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has received Crimson Spirit recognition.
Gwen handles many aspects of running the EECS office, including “matters pertaining to budget management, new employee hires, many Workday Modernization procedures, faculty matters” among many other duties. Gwen ensures that the EECS office run smoothly and efficiently. According to her nominator, Gwen “devotes many hours to make sure that everything in the office is in order. When there is an issue that needs to be resolved or a task that need to be corrected, she often comes in early and leaves late to get it done.” Gwen is always ready to help her co-workers and the students in her department. When helping others, if Gwen does not know the answer, she will take the time to find the answer by the end of the day. “She often accommodates the duties of other staff voluntarily when they are out of office. When a faculty, student, or staff stops by her desk to ask a question, a warm smile appears on her face.”
On top of doing everything in her power to help the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science operate to the best of its ability, Gwen is also known for her kindness and positive attitude. Her nominator tells how “she always maintains a positive attitude. She greets students, faculty and colleagues always with a smile which makes them feel comfortable and at ease when working with her.”
Gwen has received the Crimson Spirit Award for providing superior quality service, presenting noteworthy extra effort, and expressing genuine interest.
