We are happy to announce Landon Kirk, Fiscal Analyst in support of the School of Biological Sciences, as a Crimson Spirit Award recipient.

Landon received multiple nominations, all of which described him as an “upbeat, hardworking, team player” and “a joy to be around.” According to one nominator, Landon demonstrates on a daily basis his wealth and knowledge in WSU processes, polices and problem solving skills. “[He] really goes above and beyond for the department and is always willing to assist anyone who asks for his help, regardless of if what they are asking is truly within his purview.”

Another nominator, mentions that Landon handles the accounts for the WSU Stable Isotope Core Facility. They say that Landon’s attention to detail he provides are “invaluable.” Landon was able to detect and reconstruct a balance sheet that fixed a discrepancy that happened before he joined the team, “this may seem trivial […] but he still took the time to work this out. This alone demonstrates expressing genuine interest, exceeding expectations, and providing superior service.” Landon has gone out of his way to anticipate problems we may encounter along the way, and has worked to develop creative solutions to meet the needs of WSU scientists, directly addressing WSU strategic goals in research. “He is a tremendous colleague, patient with faculty, and always has the time to listen and help with financial challenges.”
