We are excited to announce Maynard “Mae” Siev from the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture – Student Success Department, as a Crimson Spirit Award recipient.

Mae is the Instructional Lab Supervisor of the Frank Innovation Zone (FIZ) and they received several nominations. All were wonderful testaments to their contributions and exceptional service to the Washington State University Community. One nominator even says that Mae is the main reason why they are here at WSU.

Mae brings a sense of community, they make the people around them feel seen. “They go out of their way to improve the lives of others and bring them a smile. Mae is an amazing member of our community who brings out the best in [others] and pushes everyone to grow and be the best versions of themselves.”

Another one of their nominators talks about how Mae goes above and beyond for their employees and students. “Their generosity and commitment to WSU knows no bounds, even when times seem tough they always [rally] everyone together and [it] pulls through.” Mae takes great interest in what they do and they create a safe space for those around them. They are very vocal and frequently advocate for the students and they work to improvement the department. “Mae is kind, helpful and caring,” says one of their nominators. “They create a uniquely positive space for students in the FIZ and adds so much more to the Coug experience […] we are lucky to have them.”
