We are pleased to introduce Randy Fleharty, IT Customer Support Manager in CAHNRS Operations and IT, as a Crimson Spirit Award recipient.

Randy oversees the IT customer support unit that assists and problem-solves for faculty, staff, research and extension centers, and county extension offices across the state. He often travels to locations such as Prosser, Wenatchee, Mount Vernon or Puyallup to install or repair equipment that keeps the extension and outreach centers connected.

Randy’s nominator describes him as “cheerful, helpful, and always busy.” His department even jokes that he is in “perpetual motion” and that he “goes about his day putting out fires and making people smile.” Recently, Randy was able to harvest as much of the usable technology from Johnson Hall before it was demolished and he used the materials to set up new technology spaces in other buildings. This was his way to help alleviate the compression issues that the college was experiencing.

Randy is being recognized for exceeding expectations, providing superior quality experience, creative problem-solving, and for providing outstanding contributions to the WSU Community.
