Discrimination/Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Prevention
Effective March 1, 2021 WSU moved to an annual training requirement for the Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Prevention Course for all current faculty, administrative professional, civil service, and bargaining unit employees. New employees are required to take this course within six months from their date of hire.

How do I access this course?
To access this course, log in to your online learning account. The course is automatically assigned as a required course to your personal account.
How long do I have to complete Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct Prevention – Online?
For new employees, the course must be completed within six months from their date of hire. It must completed annually thereafter.
I am a new employee. When I try to launch the course I receive the message that I am not an authorized user. What do I do?
First verify you have a valid Network ID (NID) and Password by calling the IT Help Desk at 509-335-4357. This is required to access the course. New learner accounts are created by bulk uploading employee record data from Workday, check with your supervisor, HR Partner, or Area HR Assistant to check there are no pending actions in Workday.
How often do I need to complete the courses?
New employees must complete Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Prevention – Online within six months from their date of hire. The course must be refreshed annually thereafter.
How long is the course?
New employees can expect to spend 45-60 minutes completing the Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Prevention – Online course. It is recommended you allow one hour when scheduling time for the online training.
Can I take the course anytime I like?
It is important to coordinate with your supervisor when scheduling training time. Be familiar with the guidelines described in WSU Appropriate Use of Training Time.
I do not have access to a computer at work. How will I complete the course?
Employees who do not have access to a computer at work will need to work with their supervisor to make arrangements to complete the course.
Will live sessions also be available?
Two types of live sessions will satisfy this requirement when coordinated through Human Resource Services (HRS):
- Area/department administrators may contact HRS to arrange live learning sessions for work units.
