We are happy to announce that our most recent Crimson Spirit Award winner is Ade Snider with the Department of Horticulture.

Ade had several nominations and it is easy to tell how hard working she is and how much those that she works with appreciate everything she does. One of her nominators says that Ade “likes helping us because that’s just who she is, but she also loves working for all of WSU’s students . . . Ade ensures all our students get the help they need when she provides us, her fellow advisors, with limitless knowledge and support.” Ade has been wonderful at helping her coworkers with IT support, often assisting when others need help navigating myWSU, Bookings, OBIEE, and any other number of technical challenges. When COVID-19 impacted how the department was able to teach virtually, Ade was already there helping to find solutions that would enable virtual learning to run as smoothly as possible.  Ade “really can combine the advising process with the tech skills required at an excellent level and she is just wonderful about sharing her knowledge.” Her technology assistance and know-how even extended to helping set up an online plant sale for the horticulture club when the pandemic prevented an in-person sale from being able to take place.

One of Ade’s nominators talks of her problems solving skills, and comments how, “Ade loves a challenge. If something seems too difficult to work out she sticks with it and usually comes up with a solution. She says she looks at challenges like a jigsaw puzzle and brilliantly is able to pull things together.” Ade is always ready and willing to assist her department in any way that she can and one of her nominators bragged  about her by saying, “She is kind, warm, compassionate, and brings transparency and integrity to all of her interactions with colleagues and students.”

As it was said in her nomination forms, “Ade is a Coug, through and through” and we couldn’t be more excited to have her join the list of Crimson Spirit Award Winners!
