As Black History Month comes to a close, it’s essential to reflect on the significance of this observance and the wealth of resources available to deepen our understanding and appreciation of African American history and culture.

Learning & Growing Together

Our Learning Management System, Percipio, offers a variety of resources to help us continue learning about Black history and culture beyond February. Here are some highlights:

Custom Courses created by WSU: Participate in courses like Black History Month Training that explores the contributions Black people have made to society through excellence and innovation in science, the arts, law and politics, sports, and more. Additional educational resources are included to help continue the journey into the past, present, and future of the United States.

Literature: Read inspiring stories about student activists in Seven Sisters and a Brother: Friendship, Resistance, and Untold Truths Behind Black Student Activism in the 1960s. Read firsthand accounts from the authors’ experiences during the youth movement and how their friendship, alliances, and commitment to moral integrity strengthened their resilience in the face of adversity.

Watch: The Evolution of the Black Corporate Experience: Session Replay is an excellent webinar for employees, leaders, coaches, and HR professionals to better understand the experience of black employees in the workplace. Discover practical solutions and strategies to support and develop employees and company culture.

Moving Forward

As we reflect on Black History Month, let’s commit to continuing our education and fostering an inclusive environment. By utilizing the resources available in Percipio, and across our institution, we can honor the past, celebrate the present, and work towards a more equitable future.
