June 2024 Learning and Organizational Development Updates

Minimizing Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions Course Added to Compliance Training
On February 19, 2021, the Washington State Legislature passed Senate Bill 5227. All WSU faculty and staff (including students, temp hourly, and graduate students) are required to complete the Minimizing Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions course within the first six months of hire, then annually afterward. The training will be assigned to all active employees on July 1 of each year.
Percipio Compliance Completions
In December, our learning platform underwent an update to its latest release, enhancing accessibility to custom content for all users. During the migration process, our change management team identified a programming error that impacted the import of learner compliance training records. To prevent any potential inaccuracies, we decided to halt the import of completion records until the issue could be resolved by our provider. Now, after months of anticipation, we’re pleased to confirm that the migration of learner compliance records into the learning platform has been successfully completed.
What this means for learners
Learners have full access to their complete training history, reflecting the most recent completion of a course. At this time, the functionality to review previous completion dates of the same course is not yet available in Percipio, although anticipated to be an upcoming enhancement in the near future. If you require assistance in accessing your records, our FAQ page offers guidance and resources to help learners locate their training records. For historical information, such as previous completion dates for the same course, please contact your Learning and Organizational Development (LOD) team for support.
Increased Efficiency for New Hire Access to Percipio Coming Soon!
In early 2024, WSU Modernization (MOD), Learning and Organizational Development (LOD), and Information Technology Systems (ITS) teams began a collaborative effort to implement an Application Programming Interface (API) to facilitate the exchange of essential data from Workday to Percipio. Presently, the inability of employee data to automatically load into Percipio requires ongoing manual intervention, managed by ITS. Aiming to minimize adverse impact on system and server functionality due to the large volume of information being transferred, the adopted schedule currently in place delays new or rehired employee access to Percipio 24-48 hours, and in some cases, upwards to two weeks, depending on the employee class type.
Through the introduction of this API, we anticipate a significant enhancement in accessibility for both new hires and rehires to Percipio, expected to be streamlined within 24 hours for all employee categories, dependent on a fully completed Workday file.
Final testing of the API is currently underway and based on successful outcomes, full implementation of the new API enhancement is anticipated to be live within the next few weeks.
