Ken Morgan of the Facilities Operations Mailing, Shipping & Receiving Services department for the WSU – Spokane campus has received Crimson Spirit recognition.

Ken’s work ethic and can-do attitude are a staple for his co-workers. His nominator says that even with the complications and uncertainty that was brought on by the pandemic, Ken was able to be flexible and adapted with ease when needed. His nominator also says that he “is this witty guy that has this way of bringing joy to the room and make a daunting situation seem far more manageable. No matter what the task at hand is, he genuinely wants to help or fix it. He will go above and beyond. Complete with his cougar swag on, two thumbs up, and a twinkle in his smiling eyes that peer above his WSU Cougar mask, you can always count on Ken and know he is on it.” When much of the Spokane campus was working remotely, Ken effortlessly coordinated socially distanced delivery options while ensuring the health and safety of the community. Ken’s ability to adapt and be flexible in his work helps him provide excellent customer service to the WSU Community.

When delivery methods changed during the pandemic, Ken’s nominator remarks how important Ken’s work was when it came to ensuring the smooth operation of mailing services. “Ken worked closely with shippers and the various shipping drivers to coordinate and work through all the details. He shared his expert knowledge with instructions on how to prepare their shipments and shipping options as well as acquire address lists that could be imported to create individual shipping labels with the shipping vendor. Once the packages were shipped, the process does not end there. Ken closely monitors each one to make certain they are delivered and addressed any delivery exceptions as they occurred keeping the lines of communication open with the sender.” Ken’s nominator said “Though much of our work is a team effort, I am not certain we would be the team we are without Ken. His work ethic is to be commended!”

Mr. Morgan is recognized for expressing genuine interest, following up to ensure issues were resolved, and providing outstanding contributions to the WSU communities.
