Roberto “Rob” Morales with the WSU Access Center has received Crimson Spirit Recognition for expressing genuine interest and creative problem-solving skills.

Rob started with the Access Center as a temporary employee but quickly became one of the most valued staff members. Rob’s nominator says that he “has been a star employee at the WSU Access Center” and “is outgoing, committed, passionate, and dedicated.” Rob’s work includes working with underrepresented students and he helps ensure they are seen, heard, and respected. He works with over 300 students with disabilities as an Access Advisor as well as serving on several university committees. Rob “volunteered to take on the work for Delta Alpha Pi (a disability honor society, and the only chapter in the state of Washington). He brought the honor society up from 10 students to over 70 in less than a year and worked with the program to ensure that students from across the WSU system were included.” Rob has also become a leader with the MSS collaboration Mentorship program with the Access Center. In addition to this mentorship role, Roberto also supervises 4 full time student mentors. Rob’s mentor says that he “does this work with pride and truly makes the work we do as an office stand out. We are so honored to nominate Rob for this award as he is most deserving.”

Rob is recognized for providing superior quality service, presenting noteworthy extra effort, and providing outstanding contributions to the WSU Community.
