Washington State University is hosting a Friday night football game on September 20, 2024. Preparations for the weeknight matchup will affect Pullman campus operations throughout the day.
Pullman campus parking lots will need to be cleared of employee and student vehicles by 4:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, to accommodate the Coug fans and others arriving for the evening game.

Why do all parking lots on the WSU Pullman Campus need to be vacated by 4:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024?
Washington State University will host the San Jose State Spartans in a football game at Gesa Field at Martin Stadium beginning at 7:00 PM. To allow for game day parking, parking lots must be vacated no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024. Stadium Way and Cougar Way will close to regular traffic at 4:00 p.m. and detours will be in place.

Can I request to use leave?
Yes, an employee may request to take annual leave, in accordance with department leave request processes. Leave requests must be approved by the supervisor.
Employees who do not have sufficient annual leave balances may request to use available personal holiday (full day only), accrued compensatory time, and/or may request leave without pay (LWOP) in accordance with department guidelines.

Can I request to temporarily change my schedule for the work week?
Yes, if business operations allow and with prior authorization from the supervisor, employees may request to flex their work schedule or request a temporary change to their work schedule for the week.

For civil service employees, the temporary schedule change must occur within the workweek of 12:01 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, through midnight Saturday, September 21, 2024.

- Faculty and Overtime Exempt Administrative Professional: Flexible scheduling changes are determined by the supervising manager, Chair, Director or Dean to meet departmental needs and in accordance with applicable rules and policies.

Can I request to work remotely?
Yes, if business operations allow and with prior authorization from the supervisor, employees may request to work remotely.
I will be working past 4:00 PM. What options are available regarding parking?
Pullman Transit will be running normal bus routes all day Friday and offering free park and ride services after 4:00 p.m. Pullman Transit rides are free with a CougarCard. WSU Transportation Services’ staff are available to assist faculty, staff, and students looking for help determining the best transit options. What happens if I am planning on attending the Friday game and have purchased a football parking permit?
Faculty, staff, and students who have a valid CAF football parking permit may move their car to their respective CAF parking lot at 4:00 p.m.
