Please note: This post was initially published in August of 2021; some of the information may no longer be relevant following the ending of the state’s emergency proclamation on 10/31/2022.
WSU’s Public Employee Benefit Board (PEBB) insurance coverage will cover COVID-19 testing when determined to be medically necessary. This medical recommendation occurs when an individual is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or has been exposed to others who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. If you are concerned and wonder if you should be tested, please discuss with your health care provider.
If you are medically recommended to get testing, there will be no cost to you through at least the following dates:
- Kaiser Plans: October 31, 2021
- Uniform Plans: December 31, 2021
Additional information about COVID-19 testing can be found at:
In the event you test positive for COVID-19, treatment will be subject to normal deductibles and co-payments/co-insurance of your insurance plan. Contact your insurance plan for details or read about your coverage in your plan’s Certificate of Coverage. Questions about coverage can be directed to the insurance plan directly.
Additional COVID-19 information can be found on the COVID-19 Employee Information and WSU COVID-19 Recovery Guidance websites.
